From Education to Combinatorial Chemistry
Our Minilab not only meets the requirements of modern experimental chemistry education at school or university, but has alos become a useful tool for development and testing of new strategies and methods in combinatorial chemistry.
It is designed for experiments and synthesis up to 1g or 5ml. All glass parts are made from high quaility borosilicate glass with precise threads on the outside, which fit the couplings with seamless PTFE-seals. With just a few turns gas tight connections are achieved.
The Minilab is an ideal, compact setup for chemical experiments. For heating, an aluminium block is placed on the digitally controlled hotplate stirrer "Ministir". The block holds 3 cylindrical reaction vessels in a row and has 3 ports on both sides to allow visual inspection of the raction.
The Zinssser Minilab has been used in many European schools, manly for safety reasons as there is no open flame and less chance of breakage. Also minimum quantities of reagents and chemicals are required which is another reason for its success in education.
