Scintillation Equipment

Zinsser Analytic provides scintillation equipment from scintillation Polyvials® to Mini Vials and scintillation cocktails.

Bottle

  • Miniature counting bottles for scintillation.
  • Clever locking system by easy plug and small rotary motion.
  • Excellent tightness.
  • Protection against leakage.
  • Vials available in 3 mL, 4 mL and 5.5 mL.

Caps

  • Available with two different caps as flush cap and flanged cap.

MINIS® 2000 are miniature counting vials made from polyethylene with a special sealing system, for liquid scintillation counting.

Properties are:

  • Greater safety through precision molding
  • Outstanding uniformity of thickness
  • Easier to open and close caps
  • Better seals leading to less leakage


Caps for MINIS® have inner and outer seals. They are easy to fit: Push on and turn slightly, to give an excellent seal. Just a small turn and pull will open the cap.

MINIS® 2000 minimize the volume of sample used.

MINIS® 2001 for Mini-vial counters: These vials meet the IEC-Standard for miniature vial counters. The cap is flush sided and ribbed for easy handling.

MINIS® 2002 with flanged cap: Designed to hang in a 20 ml vial which can be used with all commercial scintillation counters.

MINIS® 1000

These are 4 ml counting vials made from transparent polypropylene. They have specially designed flush sided caps which ensure optimum sealing. They are designed especially for BECKMAN-Gamma Counters and liquid scintillation counting, but are also ideal for many sample collection applications.

Plastic vials have replaced vials of low-potassium containing glass. The low price of is an advantage for using them as disposable counting bottles.

Bottle

  • Standardized liquid scintillation counting bottles
  • Low background rate, less than 5 - 7 cpm
  • High UV transmission at 360 to 400 nm
  • Made of high-density low-pressure polyethylene, without plasticizers
  • Polyvials available in sizes: Standard size 20 mL (as well as 145 mL) and as "super low diffusion" vials

Caps:

  • Superior and unique capping system
  • Color coding facilitates recognition
  • Various color caps available in: white, red, blue and green

Vials for liquid scintillation can be made from PE, PP, PTFE and borosilicate glass.

Each material has its strengths:

We offer Borosilicate glass vials and HDPE vials with closures for maximum sample security and best screening capabilities. For scenarios, in which extreme low diffusion of samples to the environment is needed we do also provide vials with PTFE coating on the inside of the HDPE vials.

The standardized 20ml LSC vials fit all standard LSC counters.

  • The have a low background rate, less than 5 - 7 cpm
  • They have a high UV transmission at 360 to 400 nm
  • They are made of high-density low-pressure polyethylene, without plasticizers
  • They can be delivered with four different colored caps

Solvent loss at 20 °C in 24 hours:

Temperature stability:

without mechanical strain - up to 120°C

with mechanical strain - up to 80°C
